African Heritage Celebration 2024

We had another highly successful visit to Senegal this fall, thanks to the participation of our faithful supporters! (The attached clip is from our stop in Diorbivol - the home of Oumar Dia, and our "origin" village!) In addition to visits to cities and villages that we've supported in past years, we had the good fortune to meet a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) who wanted to provide support to villages in the area where he was stationed many years ago. Jim French (aka Fara Ndiaye) was stationed in Diela, which is in Fouta, upriver from Diorbivol. With Jim's help and the help of others supporting his objectives, we were able to deliver textbooks and supplies to the villages of Semme and Diela. Between those two villages, that added over 1,800 children on top of AHC's aggressive plan for 2024. Mohamadou, his family, Kevin, and others gave a concerted effort, and we were completely successful.
